Kotzen

No. 37 of a hundred village churches to come... The exact construction date is unknown. It is essentially a medieval building, whose patronage, according to a protocol from 1541, lay with the von Stechow family, who had ruled the village since the 13th century. The building was extensively renovated in 1711. The nave walls were raised, the tower rebuilt, and the window openings altered. The building received extensive Baroque furnishings.
