I took these pics during a lazy summer afternoon spent in Francesca's pool. Both me and Adele were supposed to leave home in few days and we spent the whole day talking about our worries and expectations about our forthcoming experiences (in the UK for me, in the Netherlands for her). As soon as I saw the outcome of the session I was seriously impressed about how our talking affected their expressions in these pics. I felt like there was some kind of melancholic mood in the air... that's the reason behind the album title.

I have been doubting myself a lot as a photographer lately. Blame it on the Berlin winter blues and moodiness which does’t really go hand in hand with the colourful pics I wanna get, on the challenging emotional place I’ve found myself or on the constant shadowban on IG (which has sadly been my only channel to showcase what I do) which has resulted in a far lower reach and amount of feedback… I simply didn’t feel like shooting for a good four months. Louise invited me to the video shooting of her new mesmerizing collection and gave me complete creative freedom. The outcome are these shots which I see as a first step towards brighter times. From April 1st my friend Helen has been running Harvest café in Neukölln. I honestly couldn’t be happier for her for such great achievement. She worked hard, she trusted her gut feeling and she never stop believing in her dream and eventually became, at a very young age, a badass business woman. I really look up to you my dear! ❤️ Helen invited me to document on film a standard weekday morning at the café. I really enjoyed my time there, the chilled vibe and all that amazing food! I took two rolls of film for this scenario. One with my lomo, and apparently the batteries were dead and NOTHING came out and I will cry for a long time because of it. So painful! Can't there be a warning, hey your battery is dead, these genius photographs you are taking are not going to exist except in your head warning light??!! And one with my lovely new "Love is in the Air" edition Diana mini. Total crap roll. It happens. But I went to great lengths for this set up. I am devastated. I think this ONE picture is beautiful, though. Please say you like it and ease my pain...
The first anniversary of Analogue Alberta coincided with Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day. We celebrated with an entire weekend of pinhole shooting, starting at Elbow Falls and eventually ending up in downtown Calgary.

Here's the first roll through a Yashica Microtec Zoom 70, found new in the box at Sun Thrift Charity Shop for US$7.99, only the wrist strap was missing. This is the only auto-focus point-and-shoot that is capable of no-flash 2sec. exposures and can even go to a "B" setting for really long exposures. These are the last of the spring flowers shots. Some of the photos are shakey or blurry. Transparent or bushy things can defeat auto-focus, and my hands are shakey. Everyone has to find one of these!! Imagine a LOMO LC-a with auto-focus and zoom!!!!
