This is my favorite early folding camera design in the 6x9 format. The 1930's version of this was only available in black enamel but was offered with a variety of lenses. I think that very few of these were made after WWII but in the 1950's Voigtlander began making the Bessa I and then the Bessa II rangefinders both of which were only available in chrome finish and they lost that cool 1930's Deco shape.....at any rate, this particular example came from a Dutch camera dealer and is in mint condition. Even though it has a top of the line Heliar lens these images were a little soft. I wonder if the focus can be adjusted...

Portra 800 is definitely the way to go with this technique. I will be getting a ND filter for the color side for brighter days and that should help as well....I finally tracked down the pesky light leaks too I think. They are coming in at the film counter holes. Normally there is a little peg on the camera back that goes into the hole and helps align the camera back and the body and I think without it there plugging up the holes that is letting in some light. So little by little I am getting there. On the next roll I will use a tripod and see if I can get more accurate registration.

Well, gaffer's tape doesn't do well in high humidity I guess. I taped this camera up the night before and I thought I had done a good job. But apparently not. Blue painter's tape followed by a quick strip of black gaffer's tape will be my next try. Also, I snapped two shots on the redscale side for these, hence the double images on some. I think the 800 will be my go to film on the next try instead.

It's a bird! ... No, it's a plane! ... Hey wait, is that a dog? Uh-huh, looks like it is one jumping (or flying) in the air! And in this fancy moment, why not take a Lomograph? Make it redscale, too! (POTD 04.16.12)
