GolfokinoLoco

Golfokinoloco

Aloha Lomofans! I present to you my homage to the home movie. In this short film I tested action shots & extreme sun conditions. Golfokinoloco was shot while playing 18 holes at the beautiful Elleair Golf Course in Kihei, Maui, HI. It was a busy Veteran’s Day so I had time to film my friend Roberto, who was in town visiting all the way from Japan. It was a fun day with the Lomokino, especially because I won by 4 holes.

Using Fuji 200 film at f/11, without neutral density filters, the Lomo did a pretty good job. Out of eight 24 exposure rolls, 7¼ came out, leaving 680 usable frames. I used some gels again as well. This time I did more post processing in Silverfast & Lightroom for a different effect. All the colored gel shots were done in camera.

I brought the Lomokino to the golf course in part because, I could. It’s so tiny, it can go anywhere, with a small amount of extra gear. I also brought the Lomokino to the golf course because I think golf courses are beautiful, and golf is a beautiful sport in and of itself. I even have a series of digital golf art images that I shot with another popular tiny digital camera that shoots a photo every second, and I’ve been shooting film on all my rounds of golf in Maui over the last two months.

If you’re thinking about taking your Lomokino to the golf course, a tripod fits quite nicely in a golf bag…

P.S. Roberto’s wardrobe was hand picked from my father’s personal collection. Thanks Dad!
