This is an Instax Square photograph. I wish corporations could get anything right. Make the photograph smaller. Why? I would guess to force you to buy the cameraqs made by Fuji. God forbid you make film that works with thousands of cameras people have and love already. Anyway, This woman is featured in most of our experimental films. The idea was the same, the basic idea, when we set out to make a new film. To eradicate shame from the sexual experience and from perceptiuon of the naked body. She did not care what she did or showed. That is obvious. As a former Catholic I always felt slightly bad about producing this sort of content. I still do, but now it's a bit better as I know I am working thorugh something that has been foisted on me by the church: Anything that feels good is bad and we should all suffer for Christ and still most likely end up going to hell. Some days stay with you and you know why and some days or moments stay with you and you can't ever figure it out. Some writer the name I forgot, but famous, wrote a bout waiting for the ferry home one day. He recalled a woman walking off the boat on a deck below him. Nothing special about any of it, but he recalled almost every detail of the woman, her dress, the ferry. All of it. This day with this woman I recall as it was as perfect a day as I could ever hope to have. The model was professional and just shifted each time I was ready to a performer. An actress. A dancer. It all made sese. Her choices, all of them, made more sense than I could have ever asked for. The experimental film "The Nude Model" is an attempt, as a visual poem, to relay the feel of the day as I wish I could have every day turn out as this one did. This is one of my favorite images of this woman. She had a hard time bineg herslef. She was always in performance mode. I dealt with it but it became tiresome. HEre and one other time did I see the real her. The rest of the time was an elaborate layered performance. Thought I knew her for many years I never really got to actually know her. See some impressions of this years Grand Prix. About 25.000 runners face a not that easy route with intense ascents, descents and layers with cobblestone pavement. Plus this time heavy rain and few audience..poor guys!
After my LC-A+ had been broken for quite a while, I finally got it fixed and now I'm really happy to have it back and working. These are the pictures of the first roll of film after the repair.
