Summer Palace through Leica CL

The major parts of Summer palace was first build 1754, by the emperor Qian Long, then it was burned into ashes by the Anglo-French army in 1860. Rebuilding the Summer Palace was also costly: the expenditure was so massive that the Qing army lost the Sino-Japanese War in 1894, partially due to the fact that there was inadequate funding to the military. After heavy losses during the wars, Summer Palace is still one of the most beautiful royal gardens in the world.
