Dancers in the dusk

D and G in a very private, yet public, contact Improvisation performance in Hyde Park. To capture the contradiction of having such an intimate performance in such an open space, I chose to shoot with the amazing Kodak Aerochrome Color Infrared film.

@marcus_loves_film: Thanks! :) This time round I used an orange filter. There is a great review for this film here in the Lomography magazine: www.lomography.fr/magazine/tipster/2011/10/11/making-the-mo…

@peter_jurrett: I develop them in London, where I live, in a lab called Bayeux (www.bayeux.co.uk/).

came across, your fist try of the aerochrome, which you said was terrible, this one looks perfectly fine! so from what i read you changed the following: Orange filter, no direct sun light. Did you change anything else? By the way when you develop the film, what sort of process do you use? E-6 or C-41?

@luna_antonio: thanks for your visit and kind words and sorry for the super late reply. I changed the camera I effectively used, but that shouldn't make any difference as the numerical aperture of the lens is the same. I did change the f value with which I shoot with (f2.8 in the first experiment and f11 in this one). After reading some technical papers I realized you should shoot aerochrome with f11 or above, as the focal point of the IR light is slightly off those of the visible light and you increase your chances of getting everything on focus by having a high f value.
