Pegasus Bridger is the nickname of a Bridge over the Orne River. This name was given because of a commando of the 6th Airborne Division (British 6th Airborne division) which wear the name and logo of Pegasus and who was responsible to conquer the bridge under the command of Major John Howard on the night of 5 to 6 June 1944. The soldiers, led by three Horsa gliders, the June 6, 1944 at 0:20, managed to land about two hundred meters from the bridge without being noticed by the German army.
