Matera has been settled since the Palaeolithic and kept its charm , reason why lots of movies were shot there: Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" Pier Paolo Pasolini's "The Gospel According to St. Matthew" , Abel Ferrara's "Mary", Bruce Beresford's "King David " among many others.

    This place was meant to be shot with redscale, and this shot was meant to be taken. The crisp lines, the shadow and light, the yellow and red and the structures everywhere the eye can see... very cool shot!
