Spitfire

Three beautiful women in front of a Spitfire. Possibly a mark 16. The first generations of Spitfire had an enormeous V12-engine. 27 litre and 2250 bhp. Later versions had an even bigger V12. 36.5 litre. And, yeah, there is a guy in a kilt...

It wasn't my choice to be honest. They just suddenly stood there.

Just got to love the sound of the Merlin engines - I am lucky enough to hear it every week. Back in it's time, the sound was not so welcomed, I'm pretty sure of that. Saying that, if you lived in Malta at the time when the Spitfires were the saviours, that might have been a different story.
Like the fashion for the girls !

@crosschannel Merlin engines, one of the best things that came out of the war in GB. Can you confirm that this Spitfire is a mark 16? I'm not sure it had this type of canopy to the end of WW2.
