*Parangkusumo is part of Parangtritis Beach that is considered sacred. In the Javanese tradition, this place is considered to be the main entrance to the Mystical Kingdom of Indian Ocean, where Ratu Kidul ( Queen of the South ) rules. Many kinds of 'labuhan' ceremonies either from Yogyakarta palace or from the people are held in Parangkusumo.
