Cockroach Cove

9

This place is the perfect vacation spot for swimming, relaxing, tanning, meeting people, and taking photos.

This beach is known by a lot of different names.

  • Eternity Beach: This beach is probably best known as the site of the famous love scene between Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr in the 1953 movie, From Here to Eternity.
  • Halona Beach/Blow Hole: Also known as “The Peering Place”, this cove is to the right of the Halona Blowhole. The rocky cove has a small sandy beach that is great for swimming when the surf is calm.
  • And lastly, my friends and I know it as “Cockroach Cove”. Why? I dunno really, that’s just how it’s always been.

There’s a ton of things to do when you get to the cove. You park at the Halona Blowhole site and walk down the sandy/rocky trail down to the beach. You can climb up the rocks and go exploring. You can also go fishing, take a nap and get a suntan, or bring your pooch! (She’s not mine, but I met her at the beach. Her name’s Honey, the sweet lil’ thing)

There’s also the cave that you can go through, it goes all the way to the other side of the highway. I’ve heard there’s a field of grass to romp around in. I’ve never been there personally, but I will someday!

However, there aren’t any lifeguards, so make sure you know how to swim if the water’s rough. The shoreline is all rocks, so be careful! This place is one of my favorite beaches, it’s sooo beautiful! And when the water is calm, you’ll probably see some sea turtles too! So take that Krab and drive down there, trust me, you’ll love it! <3

Take your Lomo LC-A+ 20m beneath the water surface with the Lomo LC-A+ Krab Underwater Housing. This sturdy accessory will protect your LC-A+ from sun, sand, and surf!
