Lomopedia: Fuji Klasse S and Fuji Klasse W

2

Fujifilm wrote a love letter to film photography during a time when emails, tweets, and online messages were the media of choice. The company sealed the letter and posted it for all film photographers to read with the development of the Fuji Klasse S and Fuji Klasse W.

The Klasse S is a modern and compact point-and-shoot camera that basically takes high-quality camera craftsmanship and features and packed it into a nifty 35mm shooter. It was released in the Japan market in 2007 and has since created a following among film photography loyalists. Street photography is one of the Fuji Klasse’s lines of expertise.

Its 38 mm f/2.8 lens is the sister to the Fuji Klasse W's wide-angle 28 mm f/2.8 lens. Both variants offer crisp photos through the well-built viewfinder and their superb EBC Fujinon lens. One of the core features that made the Fuji Klasse cameras a great competitor in the high-end point-and-shoot market was its ability to adapt to various ISO shooting modes. Pushing the ISO to higher stops or underexposing the film is a cinch with the Fuji Klasse.

Fine tuning the Klasse to your desired settings is a breeze with the easy to use dials and simplified display. The Fuji Klasse S and W proved that film cameras can go toe-to-toe with their digital counterparts given the right features, design and advanced functions. The Fuji Klasse S and W are put alongside the ranks of the Contax T3 series, Ricoh GR-1, and Konica Hexar cameras.
