Lomowalk in Whanganui

The river city has seen better days and was a former cradle of colonialism. Today Victory Ave has too many vacant shops yet it retains outstanding architectural facades. Even the misspelling of the towns name(Wanganui)has only recently been corrected. My great-grandfather Thomas Brough ran the Railway Hotel in the 1860's so I feel a genetic link towards an under appreciated city.

I like that angle. They look like the steps to the art gallery on the hill (went there during our stay in Whanganui over Easter in 1988).
