It takes lovely half frame shots. I think they look like LC-A's lens angle in this mode. I need to try the mask in mine, I've gotten where I just do the seemless pano frames in HF mode but just use the front lens cover to make the frames.

@Alienmeatsack, I like the half frame mode too. I think it crops things tighter like the LC-A. Only thing I've found that it gets kinda grainy if you shoot with 400 or higher speed cause it's such a small negative.

@christopherlomo I tend to not like half frame shots just because they require so much extra effort to scan. :D I hadnt thought about the grain. I wonder if something like TMax 400 which has much tighter smaller grain would look better in that regard. Or maybe using Portra 400 instead of Gold/UM, the Gold tends to be grainy even in normal sized frames I think.

@Alienmeatsack, I agree it's a lot of extra work to scan half frames. Usually I'll scan 2 half shots together to save time. Haven't tried either of those films in Lomo Wide yet. Let me know if you have success with them.

@christopherlomo I like the idea that some people use when shooting HF, they pair the frames like a diptic and then as you said, scan and share as one shot that tells a story. I also love HF cameras for doubles because all those frames create a cool mix with whatever is shot over it. :D

@Alienmeatsack I try to pair the images but sometimes I forget what I shot on the previous frame. I guess that's part of the chaos I enjoy with half frames. :)

@christopherlomo I do the same with 35mm cameras. I'll have film in the ones I like to use so they are pick up and go ready. And then I forget what I've shot or if there was a theme. Unless I take notes, which I have done when testing stuff. Otherwise I just shoot and enjoy that process and I know that even in chaos my shots will work together. :D

@Alienmeatsack Yeah, I've got film sitting around in about 4 or 5 other cameras myself. Have you shot the Lomo Wide with the square frame mask? I've run a roll through it but wasn't that impressed. I'd rather just shoot with my Holga for square format.

@christopherlomo I haven't actually. When I go the LC-A 120, I considered trying a set of film in each of the same subjects. I think the two have a similar look, minus the size difference.

@Alienmeatsack I thought the vignette wasn't as pronounced as i've seen on the Holga but was still pretty good, just wasted a lot of film cause you only get same amount of shots as a normal roll. How do you like the LC-A 120? I'm considering getting one but I can't seem to find many reviews and I'd like an honest one before I shell out the money.
