Breath of the city. (PHOTO 1)

Siberia. Winter. January. The winter breath of our city is so heavy today that a day like this is a holiday. The reason for this is brown coal, to which all the city's power plants have switched. In winter, on frosty days, there are usually no clouds. But because of the city smog, neither the coast, nor the city, nor the sky is visible. #Siberia #Winter #January #Landscape #Panorama #City #coal #reportage

    Dear THEEAGLE
Thank you for your attention, emotions and appreciation.
Taking this opportunity, I want to repeat that it is not so easy to catch such a time in winter. Either a snowstorm, or a smog that has settled on the city, reduce the line-of-sight range. Ash microparticles flying through the multiple filters of several thermal power plants sprinkle the city all year round. It looks especially picturesque in winter. Cold air reduces the radius of flight of such particles and this increases their concentration in the radius of their settling.

    Dear LOMODESBRO.
Thank you for your attention, opinion and emotions.
    Dear friends.
Do you know how much coal burns on not the coldest day in the furnaces of our city's thermal power plant? Before reading the next sentence, I recommend that you sit as comfortably as possible. Or stand upright. Or just don't read. I warn you, it will be impossible to forget.
In our city, on a winter day at a temperature of -20 (C), (which is several degrees below the average winter temperature), power engineers burn 500 RAILWAY WAGONS (each wagon weighing 70 tons) in the voracious furnaces of a thermal power plant in ONE DAY (24 hours) !!!!. Please note this figure is taken from an old report when the city was supplied with COAL.
Three years ago, started uploading lignite was loaded into the furnaces of our city's thermal power plants. The combustion temperature of brown coal is 25-30% lower than that of hard coal. Therefore, the volume of coal that is required for the same purposes is 40 percent even more. I'll help you calculate.
700 RAILWAY WAGONS!!!! THE CITY BURNES BROWN COAL IN ONE FROSTY DAY.
Brown coal is not only a low combustion temperature, not a transparent atmosphere and not a photogenic city. Brown coal is strontium-90, cesium-137, plutonium-238 and plutonium-239+240 in the atmosphere. Brown coal is premature death. Mankind has not yet learned how to deal with diseases that provoke the combustion products of this coal. Therefore, I, like many of my fellow citizens, are not without reason outraged by the environmental situation in the city.

    Dear THEEAGLE.
Thank you for your attention to my reply. I had a good opportunity to tell you something that maybe you did not pay attention previously to . Omitting literally everything else that could be said, I will say only one thing. We have something to be proud of. Our million-plus cities are the coldest cities on earth with a population of more than a million. And as everyone knows, no one wins easily.
