hodachrome and I have recently completed two film soup swaps.. One roll started off in UK, and ended up in Japan and on finishing the roll, Hodaka cooked the film using this recipe here: http://www.lomography.com/magazine/tipster/2013/02/27/lets-cook-the-film-the-recipe-of-film-soup
The other roll started off in Japan and ended up with me in the UK.. On completing the roll, I mixed together some boiled water with silica gel and washing detergent, and left it to cool a little. Then I went into my make-shift darkroom and pulled out the film from the canister. Next I flicked and dabbed the soup onto the exposed film. I waited for a few minutes and then rewound the film into the canister. Afterwards I went to the kitchen and dropped the film into just-boiled water, and after 5 minutes I transferred it into cold water for a minute. Then back in the darkroom I pulled the film out from the canister again and dried it with a hairdryer, and when done I rewound the film. The film was then developed at Asda, and scanned at The Vault in Brighton.
We do not discuss what we have each taken photographs of, so the results are always a surprise..

Beautiful mission with lot's of space still surounding it. It sits on the edge of Solvang with a lovely valley behind it. Really nice place to visit.
There was a wedding going on when we visited and the bride and groom left in this gorgeous old Thunderbird, a '56 I think.

After shooting a film, take it into a dark room and open the film. Then sprinkle hot water filled with baking soda all around on the film, with flicking my fingers. Rewind it and put into a pan and pour water, and boiled it for about 5 minutes. Rinse and dry, and cross-deveop it. Done! This psychedelic result is not what I expected. I will cook some more anyway =)
A couple of years ago @hodachrome and I started chatting through Flickr and Facebook, and since then I have been lucky enough to take part in a few film swaps with the lomo-legend, including a quick swap, when he visited the UK earlier this year.. I'm getting around to developing some color film. This is one roll I was antsy to develop. 1/2 rolls of Kodak EIR. Haven't shot the other roll yet; I was curious how this would come out.
