Georgy Zhukov monument was installed in Yekaterinburg on the 50th anniversary of the Great Victory anniversary. The monument is located near the headquarters UrVO, now reorganized into the Central Military District.

The initiators of the construction of the monument in the 90s made by veterans. So they decided to perpetuate the memory of the commander, who from February 1948 to March 1953 he served as commander of the Urals Military District. Famed commander was exiled to the Urals, because Stalin believed that his popularity among the troops of Generalissimo surpassed his fame.
Work on the project of the monument lasted more than four years. It was decided to perpetuate the Marshal on a rearing horse with a naked sword. Zhukov was an experienced cavalry and many years spent in the saddle.
