Wasini Island/Kenya

Wasini - a small island at the south coast of Kenya bordering Tanzania. The shots are from the mid 90ties where hardly any tourist found her/his way to Wasini - a sleepy and untouched island at low tight to be reached by foot or at high tide with a small ferry. No cars are allowed. A peaceful and sleepy hide away.

@guja Many thanks! Yes it had been a gorgeous place. I had been there twice in the nineties - nowadays also here mass tourism has conquered this island to a certain extend. As far as my knowledge is concerned still no hotel and coral garden is a protected area - but a lot of tour organizers are now offering diving tours and dolphin watching there. So not anymore a place of secluded tranquility.But still worth to make a trip if one is in Kenya/Mombasa.
