Argentine singer and actress Julieta Gonçalves.

Julieta had read the story of how I took a similar picture of my little daughter with her proud bubble gum balloon, and nothing came out because of a broken shutter curtain. As a game, and since we were in the same spot, we tried to recreate the photograph.

    @an4 Yes, why not? This specific unit I bought from ebay abroad, but there are many cameras and lenses from the GDR around here :)

    @arozenfeld
    I have also two Praktica B.
    BM with Pentacon lense and BC1 with Carl Zeiss Jena lense.
    But I think both lenses come from the same factory.
    Is your BX20 from GDR or is it made later?

    @an4 Yes, I also have the Praktica B mount Zeiss Jena lenses like 50/1.4, 35/2.4 and 80/1.8. I have a couple of BC1 cameras I bought locally but unfortunately the meter/electronics don't work, otherwise I prefer them a bit over the BX20 but the one I have does work well. All of them read "Made in the German Democratic Republic". My Praktica BC1/Prakticar 50 1.4 came with an original sales receipt from a store in West Berlin, a couple of months after the wall fell! I see that you are in Rathenow, which I understand was in the GDR and I imagine was the place of the ROW projection lenses which later merged with VEB Zeiss Jena, right?

    yes, Rathenow is famous for optic industry or better its famous for the industrialization of the optic industry. I really rare used my Praktica Bs. I thought the where solid but old electronic fail from time to time.
