Cathedral Square - the square in the center of the Kolomna Kremlin, which is the oldest in Kolomna. Through the square is the main street of the Kremlin - Lazarev Street.
Cathedral Square originated in the XIV century as a result of the construction of two palaces - the Grand Duke and the Episcopal, the connecting link of which was the Assumption Cathedral. With the Pyatnitsky gates, the area was connected by Bolshaya Street, which runs south of the then Tikhvin church. The square gained its modern outline at the end of the 18th century as a result of the reconstruction of the city according to the "regular" plan. Through the square was Uspenskaya Street (now - Lazareva Street). In 2007, the ensemble of the Cathedral Square was completed with a monument to Cyril and Methodius.
