Here is an interview with Vanessa who worked on a customized version of La Sardina during the Who’s Next trade show at “La porte de Versailles”. She answered a few questions to let us know more about her personality and her world.
First Name: Vanessa
Name: De Abreu
Web Site/blog: Les Gambettes Sauvages
Hello! Can you introduce yourself in a few words?
Blogger and dabbler ! I have a blog for a few years now. I post my creations and my favorites (fashion, design, travel), It is like a research notebook.
What are your favorite working techniques? Which materials do you work with?
I like to crafts or customizations (jewels, accessories, design elements) from different materials. 3 years ago I began knitting and my encounter with the artists from the CFT (Collectif France Tricot) made me consider knitting as an art form.
What are your sources of inspiration?
I love fashion, and working for a fashion magazine allowed me to develop my knowledge further. I admire Hussein Chalayan a lot because he is an amazing contemporary artist in addition to being a stylist. Also Tsumori Chisato and Jil Sander for their work. And Jean-Paul Goude because he is an integral part of French culture.
How will you deal with the customization of our camera La Sardina? Do you have some ideas?
I would like to divert the wool from its primary use, adding some fun materials.
If you could go where ever you want with this camera and a roll of film, where will you go and would you shoot?
Maybe to Mexico during “el Dia de los Muertos” I never went there and it is on my wish list for a long time. I would take lots of photos of the crazy and colored altars !
Thank you Vanessa!
